NORTH COAST
The coastline north of Mombasa is a world of natural beauty. The palm lined beaches and waters of the Indian Ocean offer an ideal escape.
Coral, myriad fish, sea turtles and dolphins bring the offshore reefs to life. World class diving is available with spectacular coral gardens and drop offs, as well as Kenya's best wreck diving on the MV Dania.
The beaches of the north coast offer rest or recreation, something for everyone.
Nyali Beach is the first beach you come to north of Mombasa. It is a shopping hub with a variety of hotels. Nyali Beach Hotel was Mombasa's fisrt beach hotel on the mainland.
Bamburi Beach is next as you travel north. It is home to large hotels with the Mombasa Marine Park: 
SOUTH COAST
The coastline south of Mombasa is a tropical paradise of white sand beaches, turquoise waters and coral reefs. The protective reefs have created ideal beaches, bordered by coastal rainforests with abundant birdlife and variety of wildlife.
Shelly Beach, just south of the Likoni Ferry, is the closest beach to Mombasa, it can be reached in about 30 minutes by walking.
Tiwi Beach is 17km south of the Likoni Ferry, it is a popular spot for sun bathers and snorkelers. This undeveloped beach is tranquil but busy.

MALINDI & WATAMU
Malindi is a small town at the center of a strip of tropical beaches. The place is home to several established resorts and guesthouses. You can fly directly to Malindi or go by road. Malindi is a 2 hours drive from Mombasa town. 
LAMU
Lamu is a town with a difference. At Lamu, life moves at it's own relaxed rhythm. The island itself has endless beaches where tiny villages nestle among coconut and mango plantations. Lamu's real attraction is the old town, the narrow streets, the markets around the fort. There are no vehicles on the island and the donkey and dhow remain the only means of transport.
Lamu is best accessed by air and there are scheduled flights daily from Nairobi , Mombasa and Malindi. The island is serviced by an airstrip on Manda island and from there, you have a boat transfer to the hotel.
